Grand Teton - Jenny Lake - September 2nd

Today we did get to hike at Jenny Lake.  We took the boat over to the other side where the trails were and went to Inspiration Point and the Cascade Canyon.  We then walked back along the lake.  Total hike 5.8 miles.

The history/humor for the day is the last time that we were at Grand Teton with the boys we went to Jenny Lake.  Mom said, “let’s not take the boat back, lets walk the trail”.  Still to this day the boys will periodically talk about the forced march around Jenny Lake.

Dave wanted to do the same today for nostalgia.

When we were sitting at one of the viewpoints having a snack, I had my empty hand down at my side and I feel something.  It was a chipmunk thinking I had something in my hand to feed it.  He was chubby, so he must be successful much of the time.

Enjoy the pics.

Waterfall along the trail

the sign says Inspiration Point Elevation 7200 feet.
Guess it’s not the same inspiration point from Happy Days.

This was our view when we stopped for our second snack.  This is a different chipmunk.  He was running around, but didn’t try to come for food.

Hints of fall colors

Til next time…
