Travel day from Olympic National Park to Moclips, WA. We got in and got settled in a camp space provided by Dave’s friend within a short distance to the Ocean. We had a great day catching up, walking near the river and the Pacific Ocean. Had good pizza and yummy ice cream in a “fake town”. It was a town built as it’s own contained “city”, but just felt like a movie set when you were walking around. That’s the best description I can give. So different than the “true” Moclips. It made Dave think of Leave it to Beaver/Andy Griffith type of feel just with larger houses.
8/15 We walked on the beach the next morning before leaving because we were told about the sand dollars that are only out in the morning. They were really cool to look at. We were told the way they move is pretty interesting, but all that we saw were sedentary. We also saw a seagull having a fish for breakfast.
We then hit the road and travelled to Fossil, OR, population 448. The ride was really pretty with light brown rolling hills with small pockets of evergreens and big jutting rock formations.
From our campsite we can see a church steeple against the hill, just a very calming site. Today is a relax, catch up and chill day.
Til next time…

Nice beach and rolling hill country side.
