Eureka Springs, AR

Today took us to Eureka Springs, AR, a town of a little over 2,000 people in the Ozarks.  The downtown has shops, restaurants, and lots of old architecture.  We started with coffee and at Eureka’s Daily Roast.  While there, a couple came in and started playing folksy music. Throughout the day we walked around the main street, ventured in some shops and enjoyed the uniqueness of the town.  Interesting fact - there are only three chain restaurants in all of Eureka Springs.

For lunch we enjoyed dining on board the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway.  It was a four mile trip with lush scenery and good food.  Dave called it fast food because we were moving (bad Dad joke).  A very enjoyable unique lunch experience.

The final place we visited today was called Thorncrown Chapel.  The design of the chapel nestled in the woods was tranquil.  Statistics for the chapel:  48 feet tall, 425 windows, sits atop over 100 tons of native stone and colored flagstone, has had over 7 million visitors since opened in 1980 and the architect was an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Tomorrow the mobile RV tech comes to check out our black tank.  Keeping positive thoughts that he will be able to get us back on the road.

That’s it for today’s adventure.
